If you don't see the specific PIV chain part # you have, please contact us for an interchange. Most commonly the chain part # will be displayed on the units nameplate, like the example below. What is PIV Chain

PIV Chain, also known as a positively infinitely variable chain, is constructed with a combination of pins and plates containing sets of thin metal sections capable of moving independently to change pitch diameters within a set of conical wheels. This flexibility allows the chain to mesh with grooves that taper from the edge to the center of the gearbox wheel face at different effective pitch diameters. PIV chain is often used in textile production lines, printing press machines, packaging line equipment, and other machinery. PIV drives have been around since 1928 and vastly grew in popularity for industrial power transmission in the 70s with the introduction of the posited series of PIV drives. The uniqueness of PIV chain drives makes them highly versatile for use within almost any industrial application, and the reliability of this style of drive has kept PIV drive systems alive throughout the years and a staple in many industrial applications.
